Privacy Policy & Disclaimer

Last updated: 22 September 2026

Welcome to proxyip.io (“the site”). This policy outlines how we handle, process, and protect technical data when you use our IP lookup, network classification, risk estimation, and optional WebRTC or DNS leak testing utilities. By using this service, you acknowledge and agree to the terms below.

1. Service Scope & Purpose

This site is an open diagnostic and network intelligence utility intended for technical users, researchers, and the general public.

We do not require user accounts, do not maintain any profile databases linked to personal identity, and do not collect standard personal information (such as real names, phone numbers, or government IDs).

2. Data Processing & Technical Operations

Lookup Targets: When you search an IP or load the home page exit view, our server processes that IP address. The default address shown on the home page corresponds to the public gateway address transmitted by standard network headers (such as X-Forwarded-For).

Technical Connection Logs: For uptime monitoring, abuse prevention, and infrastructure security, our edge systems may record standard technical metadata (timestamps, request paths, protocol headers). These logs are utilized strictly for maintenance and security forensics.

Client-Side Environment Risk: To evaluate environment-level consistency, client scripts analyze non-identifying browser attributes (e.g., system timezone, interface language, viewport resolution) locally on your device. These computations run in your browser and are not persisted as a centralized tracking profile.

Optional Leak Diagnostics: WebRTC and DNS leak checks are purely user-initiated. Tests run only after you explicitly click the action button, triggering standardized probes directly from your browser.

Visit Analytics: We may use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect aggregated page views, coarse geography, device type, and traffic sources to improve the service. See the Cookies section below.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

Preferences: px_lang and px_theme store your language (English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese) and dark/light mode selections strictly to enhance browsing convenience.

Fair-Use Quota: pxq is a signed, HTTP-only cookie deployed to enforce daily request quotas and mitigate automated abuse. It holds non-identifying counters, cannot be used for user authentication, and automatically expires after approximately 48 hours.

Analytics: When enabled, Google Analytics may set cookies (e.g. _ga) to distinguish visits. Google is the processor; see Google’s privacy policy. You can limit analytics via browser settings or extensions.

4. External Network Data & Telemetry

Aggregated Network Intelligence: Geographic coordinates, Autonomous System Numbers (ASN), organization identifiers, and threat intelligence indicators displayed across the service are derived through proprietary algorithmic aggregation. We consult global routing tables, public registries, and specialized network intelligence feeds without endorsing or binding to any single upstream provider.

Client-Initiated Probes: When running user-triggered client tests (such as DNS resolver tracking or WebRTC STUN candidate discovery), your browser directly communicates with standard public network endpoints under typical Internet protocols.

5. Data Ethics & Non-Commercialization

No Data Sales: We uphold strict data integrity principles. We never package, rent, monetize, or sell IP query streams or user activity records to third-party brokers.

No Ad Profiling: Aside from the aggregated visit analytics above, we do not deploy cross-site ad trackers or sell user profiles for targeted advertising.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

Informational Reference Only: Internet routing topologies and commercial anti-fraud policies evolve dynamically. Geo-attribution, proxy tags, and block probabilities represent algorithmic estimations based on observable network traits. They do not constitute formal legal, compliance, or operational guarantees.

Limitation of Liability: Users assume full responsibility for actions taken based on data retrieved from this site. We accept no liability for operational disruptions, account actions, or indirect damages resulting from reliance on our outputs.

7. Policy Revisions

We may periodically revise this policy to reflect operational or regulatory updates. Any changes will be posted directly to this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the service following revisions constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
